Emergency Medical Responder Training - 1st Responders
Date/Time: Every Tuesday, beginning April 17, 2018 and ending June 9, 2018
0800 - 1700 Hours
Location: Navajo Workforce Development Learning Center, located behind the Fire Departmnet, Tuba City, AZ
This course is presented by SMMS and the primary focus of the Emergency
Medial Responder (EMR) is to initiate immediate livesaving care to critical
patients who access the emergency medical system. Typically, the EMR renders
on-scene emergency care while awaiting additional EMS response and may serve
as part of the transporting crew, but not as the primary care giver. This
invidual possesses the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide
lifesaving interventions while awaiting additional EMS respose and to assist
higher-level personnel at the scene and during transport. Emergency Medical
Responsders function as part of the comprehensive EMS response, under
medical oversight. Emergency Medical Responders perform basic interventions
with minimal equipment. Successful completion of this course will allow
students to test with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
(NREMT) for their Emergency Medical Responder certification.
The cost to attend the class is $275; however selection is based on meeting
requirements such as; 21 years of age and free from criminal convictions and
